PROJECT Residence Penthouse A6

About 131

How would you describe the style you've brought to this residence?

Relaxed luxury. We wanted this Penthouse to have elements of glamour without feeling glitzy. We used sizeable dynamic original artwork and contemporary finishes like a felted velvet sofa.

Tell us about accessories; how do you select them for clients?

This property had lots of open shelving, which is a stylist's dream. It allows you to add so much to the room. We choose a variety of materials and shapes, from design books to ceramics and small sculptural items. It's really the base; we leave plenty of space for clients to add their own treasured objects.

A home office is a modern must-have; what tips do you have for styling and designing these spaces?

In the past, home offices were often rooms initially designed for other purposes, such as a bedroom. Now, we find new builds will (almost!) always include an office. We approach this space like any other. Lighting design is vital for task-orientated purposes and for establishing the overall mood of the space. Clients tend to use their offices at similar times each day or night, so setting up for these specific periods is essential. A task chair is crucial, but so is an alternate seating option for a visitor or to change things up occasionally. As with lighting, artwork imparts natural energy, so choosing something that ignites your creativity (or helps to focus on a spreadsheet!) is highly recommended.
